Practical matters
Electrical Appliances
The Marco Polo has both 110- and 220-volt current on board. Hair dryers,
electric rollers, curling irons, electric shavers, and other small appliances
can be used in your stateroom. For safety reasons, travel irons are not
allowed. Remember, each bathroom is equipped with a built-in hair dryer so it
may not be necessary to bring one from home.
Laundry and Dry Cleaning
Valet service is available for both laundry and dry cleaning. A laundry bag
and order form will be provided by your cabin steward.
Money Matters
Your Orient Lines cruise-tour includes a shore excursion in every port of
call as well as all meals on board the Marco Polo. However, you will need
money for some lunches or dinners ashore, tips, drinks on board, shopping,
and other personal items. The actual amount will vary with your spending
habits. For safety and convenience, we recommend yoU carry your money in US $
or sterling traveler's checks which may be cashed at the purser's office. We
will also make every effort to arrange for representatives of local banks to
provide currency exchange on board while in port. For safekeeping of your
valuables, safe deposit boxes are available free of charge from the purser's
office. American Express, MasterCard, Visa and traveler's checks are accepted
for settlement of your account on board. We regret that personal checks
cannot be accepted. Please note that although you may carry an unlimited
amount of funds during your trip, you may not take more dollars or sterling
out of a foreign country than you brought into that country.
